Tearfund Update

We were recently joined by John Hyde of Tearfund who gave us an update on the agency's relief and development work, the importance of praying with an educated outlook and the role of the church in the communities facing crisis and development issues.

In 2013 we commited prayer and support when Typhoon Haiyan, world's most powerful typhoon ever recorded over land, tore through The Philippines, taking lives and destroying livelihoods. John's news that the damage caused by last December's Typhoon Hagupit was relatively reduced in comparison to the devastation that came just a year before was an answer to many of our prayers.

Now in this period of recovery we want to continue to give our prayers and offering.

You can listen to John's talk by clicking on his sermon from February here.

Tearfund is a registered charity, called to follow Jesus where the need is greatest. They work in 60 countries and have a vision to see 50 million people released from poverty.
